Rani, Sonam lose Abhi, Ranbir, Sonam and Rani not well with Ranbir and Abhishek

For the first time Sonam and Rani admit that all is not well between them and their co-stars......

Abhishek-Rani
The Bunty Aur Babli pair won't be seen in a film anytime soon. Rani Mukherji, who was linked to Abhishek Bachchan, just before he married Aishwarya Rai is smarting from the humiliation of not been invited to the wedding.

For the first time in an interview to a magazine the actress admits being hurt at the omission, despite being close to the Bachchans for years. She has also worked with Amitabh and Jaya Bachchan, and it hurt that much more when she was left out of the guestlist for the wedding. In the said interview, Rani opens up, "The truth is that if a person chooses not to invite you to their wedding, you realise where you stand with the person.

You may be deluded and think you are friends but maybe the friendship was only restricted to being co-stars on the sets. It doesn't matter. It became very clear and evident that we were only co-actors and not friends. Moreover, inviting someone to a wedding is a personal choice. Tomorrow when I decide to get married, I will choose the handful of people I want to invite. Poor guy has been married for many years, we should all move on. I will always have fond memories of working with him."

Ranbir-Sonam
Now it is out in the open. In an interview to Filmfare magazine, Sonam Kapoor has confessed that she is no longer on talking terms with her childhood friend Ranbir Kapoor.

The hostility started following some comments made by Sonam on Koffee With Karan, after which Rishi Kapoor blasted her in print. She expected Ranbir to show grace and apologise for his dad's rude comments. But that didn't happen. And things just got worse over time.

The actress candidly admits, "I don't speak to Ranbir anymore. We are no longer friends, I guess. I am not in touch with him. He doesn't feature in my life at all. Honestly, discussing him and Deepika in all my interviews is very annoying. By going on the show with Deepika when their break-up story was still fresh, I just got caught in the crossfire. I am an unfortunate victim."

Worst Actors Shah Rukh, Sonam, Shah Rukh and Sonam Kapoor named worst actors at Golden Kela Awards, Worst Sonam Shah rukh khan

Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan was named the worst actor and Sonam Kapoor the worst actress at the third annual Golden Kela Awards Saturday night, a spin-off of Hollywood's Razzies awards, which recognises the worst in cinema.

While Shah Rukh won the award for Karan Johar's "My Name is Khan", where he played a patient of Asperger's syndrome, Sonam got the award for her home production "Aisha".

Ironically, Shah Rukh has also won the Filmfare award for the best actor for the same film.

"My Name Is Khan" also received the worst film award.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali won the worst director award for "Guzaarish". "Guzaarish" also got Black Award for Emotional Blackmail.

Director Ram Gopal Varma was awarded the Bas Kijiye Bahut Ho Gaya Award (Please Stop Its Enough), asking him to stop making films.

The worst supporting actor male went to Arjun Rampal for "Housefull", and worst supporting actress female went to Kangana Ranaut for "Kites".

Interestingly, out of five nominations in the category of supporting actress, three were for Kangana in "No Problem", "Once Upon A Time in Mumbaai" and "Kites".

Bawra Ho Gaya Hai Ke award (Have You Gone Nuts) was given to actor Ben Kingsley for his participation in the film "Teen Patti".

However, there was a special category of 'Anti-Kela' awards for the films that were the saving graces of 2010. The awards were for the films that were meaningful and entertaining, while still being in the mainstream.

Those awarded in this category were "Udaan", "Ishqiya", "Love, Sex and Dhoka", "Do Dooni Chaar", "Peepli Live" and "Tere Bin Laden".

"I think we should learn to make fun of our own work and I think it's just fun although it's tough because we make a lot of bad films. It will be easy to choose good films but it will be difficult to choose worst work," said Vishal Bhardwaj, producer of "Ishqiya, who was present at the award ceremony hosted by Cyrus Broacha in Rockdome at the Ambience Mall in Gurgaon.

"Ishqiya" director Abhisek Chaubey added: "Nobody wants to admit that they have made the worst film and coming here would be admitting it, nobody really wants to believe that they did something worst. But really hope people who are nominated see the lighter side of it and come here."

Small-budget film "Udaan" swept this year's prestigious Filmfare awards and here also it won the Anti-Kela for being 2010's "saving grace".

"Being given an award by people who are looking for bad stuff in films means a lot," said director Vikramaditya Motwane in a video message.

Meanwhile, Aditya Narayan and Pakhi Tyrewala were awarded the Golden Kela for worst debut male and female for "Shaapit" and "Jhootha Hi Sahi" respectively.

Actor Uday Chopra was given the Chimpu Kapoor award (No talent award for relatives of celebrities).

"Pee Loon" from "Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai" was adjudged the most irritating song and Sanjay Leela Bhansali won another award for the most atrocious lyrics for song "Sau gram zindagi" from "Guzaarish".

Akshay Kumar-Aishwarya Rai starrer "Action Replayy", which was the big screen adaptation of a play, was given the award for the Most Original Story.

Director Sanjay Sharma's gay love story "Dunno Y... Naa Jane Kyun" received the Lajja (Shame) award for worst treatment of a serious issue. "Ek Second... Jo Zindagi Badal De" won the When did This Come Out Award.

Rohit Shetty's "Golmaal" series won the worst triology ever in the history of films and Salman Khan starrer "Dabangg" was given the Ajooba Award for Sheer Awesomeness.

The worst animated film award went to "Baru the Wonder Kid".

Pradeep Sarkar's "Lafange Parindey" was given the Jajantram Mamantram Award for Worst Named Film.

Singer Sukhwinder Singh was given the Sonu Nigam Award for Career Suicide for his debut in "Kuch Kariye".

Vivek Oberoi-starrer "Prince" was given the Golden Kela for the most ridiculous sequence in the film.

Jackie Shroff won the worst casting ever award for his role as Shirdi Sai baba in the film "Malik Ek".

Host Cyrus was at his wittiest best during the award function. Also present were actor Praduman Singh of "Tere Bin Laden" fame and "Do Dooni Chaar" director Habib Faisal.

Katrina, Deepika won't speak up

...but that keeps the ball rolling

Times have changed. Once Ranbir Kapoor wore Deepika on his arm, and she got RK tattooed on the nape of her neck. It was cool to show off your boyfriend. And be open about the fact that you had one. Lara Dutta spoke well about Kelly Dorjee, and was more than open to answer questions about him. Shahid and Kareena were madly in love and spoke openly about their feelings, same with Saif, who smiled as the entire world gasped at his Kareena tattoo on his forearm.

But time has gone by, and flaunting a boyfriend just isn't cool anymore. At least, nobody from the Hindi film industry seems to be doing it. Ranbir, Katrina won't admit that they are a couple and actually 'dating'. Siddharth Mallya and Deepika Padukone are spotted together everywhere but they remain tight-lipped about their relationship status; So what if Shahid Kapoor was the one who opened Priyanka's house door for the IT-officials, that really doesn't make their relationship 'official'. Lara Dutta preferred to keep mum on her torrid affair with Dino Morea, and went public with her love for Mahesh Bhupathi only very late. Now, Vidya Balan won't speak about Siddharth Roy Kapoor. And the one common thing about all these actors are: they won't confirm it, but they won't deny it either.

Deepika Padukone is very firm about keeping her mouth shut. "You give the media one piece of information, and they want to know everything else. You tell them you are dating, next they want to know when you are getting married, and when will you plan babies. They enter the bedroom directly, and won't give you your privacy. It's extremely important that we talk only about what we think should be written. I made a mistake by talking about my personal life once, I doubt I'll do it ever again."

Lara Dutta was on a no 'personal questions please' spree for a very long time. A firend of the actor's tells us, "Maybe she was fighting her own battle at that time. Even speaking to the media puts tremendous amount of pressure, because everyone else, who is not even closely related to you is then judging you and governing what you should be doing and what you shouldn't be doing without having a clue of the real story."

Sonam Kapoor, too, made a statement, that she'll never go to the press with her 'love stories'. "My mum says it's crass," said Deepika on a talk show, "It's not dignified."

Priyanka Chopra questions the media back when she is questioned: "So are you and Shahid a couple?" PC: Did he tell you that? Did I tell you that? And the story goes on. Nobody will say a thing, but yes, they'll open doors for IT officials in their boxer shorts , go for long drives and dinner dates, and even lip-lock in public, like Ranveer Singh and Anushka Sharma did at Shahid Kapoor's birthday bash (which PC didn't attend!), but those lips will be sealed, so what if only by pressing against their better-halves'... We guess, the speculation just keeps them in the news. And they manage to have their cake and eat it, too!

Ranveer-Anushka Kiss in Public

Looks like Anushka Sharma and Ranveer Singh have decided not to hide their relationship anymore. At least that's what their antics at Shahid Kapoor's birthday bash on Saturday night suggests.

The pair, who came together, were spotted holding hands, and had their arms around each other for the better part of the night. Later into the night, they hit the dance floor together.

There was no doubt in anyone's mind that they are more than "just friends", as they claim. A few glasses of wine later, they threw caution to the wind, and were seen kissing in an uninhibited manner.

Their public displays of affection shocked everyone present, and their devil-may-care attitude was the talk of the town the following morning.

The pair was last seen together leaving Karan Johar's party at Four Seasons last month. At the time, Anuskha had tried to hide her face from the paparazzi. This time, however, they seemed oblivious to the media, as they were too busy looking into each other's eyes.

Indian women clutch it up

Hollywood's Anne Hathaway and Jeniffer Lopez flaunt them, so do Bollywood's Aishwarya Rai and Sonam Kapoor. And now flashy, bejewelled and palm-sized clutch bags have made it to every fashion fanatic's wardrobe in India - never mind if they defy practicality.

"The explosion of tiny evening bags has been a blessing for women who only need to carry basic items for a short span of the evening - such as the cell phone, car keys, lip gloss and a little cash. But the latest designs today are more an object of art, a statement piece rather than just a 'bag'," Saraswathi Arjunan, spokesperson of gordonMax Crysthelo evening bags, told IANS.

No doubt clutches have been around in all shapes and sizes in India for the past few years. But it is the tiny, hard bound, crystal studded, expensive variety that is catching the fancy of many nowadays.

Of course, they are statement pieces. How else would one explain a pure gold clutch, encrusted with real rubies and diamonds, owned by jewellery designer Farah Khan Ali?

"I own a real ruby, diamond and gold clutch presented to me by someone. That I would say is the most expensive clutch I own," said Farah.

But how practical is it?

"Usually I only keep my lipstick, house keys, mobile and a compact. I agree it is not a practical investment, but fashion never is. It is all about feeling good," she said.

Even socialite Riddhima Kapoor, daughter of Bollywood veterans Rishi and Neetu Kapoor, believes "nothing usually fits into a palm-sized clutch...maybe just a gloss!"

"Having one or two is good enough. I wouldn't consider it a practical investment," she added.

But Arjunan says evening bags are not really about practicality.

"Evening bags actually got their start as a coin purse hung from a girdle around the waist. The thing that differentiates the evening bag from a regular handbag is that evening bags have always had a certain status appeal and do not take into consideration practicality," she said.

Large, pocketed clutch bags ruled the roost for quite some time in India, before paving the way for much smaller, blingy versions.

These are also being picked up by many college-goers and middle-class women who are becoming fashion conscious.

"Earlier one used to see women going out mostly with their husbands, brothers or boyfriends, but things have really changed. They move out with their own set of friends and colleagues and don't always need to carry a big bag as there are minimal things to carry - her credit cards, mobile phone, money, house keys and some make-up like a lipstick...so a clutch is appropriate in terms of practicality and obviously looks trendy too," Nina Lekhi, CEO of bags and accessories brand Baggit.

Lekhi says her brand of clutches witnesses a boost of 18-20 during the partying season in winter, but she has seen an annual growth of around eight percent.

Shivani Gaur, a 25-year-old, is quite regular at parties. She said:

"It becomes really hard to manage a sling bag at discotheques, where you like to let your hair down. But a clutch is small, holds the important things you need...and it looks stylish. It's nice to have it in different colours and in metallic tones for it to go with all dresses."

In fact, Shivani's mother borrows her clutches at times for weddings and other family functions - so they are conducive for all age groups - from 16 to even over 60!

"Even if a clutch doesn't hold much, what's the harm? It looks good and attracts attention. What more do girls want?" quipped Rakhi Sachdeva, a 27-year-old marketing executive.

A decent clutch would cost anywhere upwards of Rs.1,000, but luxury clutch brands like gordonMax, Jimmy Choo and Judith Lieber can conveniently cost over Rs.50,000.
